Zuni fetish carver Carl Etsate made this wonderful Snake. Hand carved out of Onyx with Turquoise eyes. The snake is very important in Zuni ceremonies. It represents primitive energy and helps us connect with greater powers. The snake also symbolizes life, death, and rebirth. (note-there is natural pitting in the stone) Signed

Zuni fetishes are carvings made from various materials by the Zuni people. Traditionally, fetishes served a ceremonial purpose for their creators and they represented animals and figures that were part of their culture.
