Description
The Nata-aska or the Black Ogre Kachina carries a bow and arrow and sometimes a knife or saw for hunting. He has flapping jaws which are always clacking. He disciplines the children.
Zuni carver Walter Hughte created this magnificent kachina. Walter yields to the natural shape of cottonwood root in order to create this wonderfully carved Ogre Kachina. This marvelous carving would be a great addition to your kachina or Native American art collection. Signed
