Zuni bear fetishes represent healing and strength. Zuni artist Kenric Laiwakete hand crafted this exquisite bear fetish. The bear carving is made out of Madagascar Sea Urchin Fossil. One side has an inlaid Turquoise heartline, and the other side has an inlaid Sun Face made out of Turquoise, Coral, Mother of Pearl Shell, and Jet. This great carving would make a great addition to your Native American art or Zuni fetish collection. Signed (note-there is natural fracturing in the urchin)

Zuni fetishes are carvings made from various materials by the Zuni people. Traditionally, fetishes served a ceremonial purpose for their creators and they represented animals and figures that were part of their culture.
