This lovely Morning Singer Kachina was made out of cottonwood and is painted with detail by Navajo artist Doradeen Frank.  Doradeen carves a variety of miniature kachinas.  Signed

4  3/4″ tall x 3  1/8” long x 3” wide

The Early Morning Singer represents early morning because he appears at dawn during the Bean Dance and announces news.  He sings songs to wake the village while passing out bean sprouts for the people to eat.
