Hopi Kachina carver, Tyson Nequatewa has been creating kachinas for over 40 years. Over the years, he has won many awards for his work. Tyson expertly carves each kachina out of the root of a cottonwood tree with an amazing amount of detail and precision. Each kachina that Tyson carves, has a highly detailed corn body.
In nature, the Turtle comes from the waters, which the Hopi hold to be very sacred. The Hopi culture view water as a vital source of life. Water gives their crops life. The traditional Hopi thrives on the survival of their crops for nourishment, and without water, this ancient form of survival would not be possible. A wonderful addition to your Native American art or Hopi Kachina collection. Signed
