GERMINATION KACHINA JEROME NEQUATEWA NATIVE AMERICAN

Return to Previous Page
Description

Description

Half Hopi, half Zuni Jerome Nequatewa was raised with the knowledge of the culture and customs of both the Hopi and the Zuni.  Jerome was taught to carve by his father, the late Harold Nequatewa.  Jerome’s kachinas are delicately carved, showing attention to movement and detail.

The Germination god plays a major role in the Hopi culture. He controls the growth and reproduction of all things.

Jerome yields to the natural shape of cottonwood root in order to create this wonderfully carved Germination god Kachina.  This magnificent carving would be a great addition to your kachina or Native American art collection.  Signed
9″ tall x 3” long x 1  3/4” wide
