Navajo sand painting artist, Glen Nez made this fabulous sand painting depicting an Eagle Kachina. Sand paintings are made mainly out of naturally colored sand, that comes from rocks that are crushed. Each color represents a direction and a time of day; Blue- South and Midday Sky, Black-North and Night, Yellow-West and Evening Twilight, White-East and Dawn.

Navajo people believe that the universe to be delicately balanced. Only man can upset it, causing disaster and/or illness. When this happens, a medicine mane must restore the natural balance.
