Hopi Kachina carver, Tyson Nequatewa has been creating kachinas for over 40 years. Over the years, he has won many awards for his work. Tyson expertly carves each kachina out of the root of a cottonwood tree with an amazing amount of detail and precision. Each kachina that Tyson carves, has a highly detailed corn body.
The White Chin Katsina (Tuma-uyi) is one of the oldest spiritual beings in Hopi tradition, primarily recognized by the kaolin white clay painted on his chin. His duties include bringing rain and watching over the whitewash on village homes. A wonderful addition to your Native American art or Hopi Kachina collection. Signed
